Ben Askren, a former Mixed Martial Arts fighter, announced he became a Christian after waking up from 45 days in a coma.
Askren, who said he passed away four times while in the hospital for a double lung transplant, had previously resisted giving his life to Christ.
“I went with my wife to church for 15 years because that was part of the deal,” says the former University of Missouri NCAA national wrestling champion. “I said, ‘I’m not a Christian, but I’ll support you.’
“And it was really weird. When I woke up, I’m like, ‘I gotta do it.'”
