Football players at Ohio State University are using their platform for faith as more than 2,000 students gathered Monday for the second annual “Fall Kickoff: Invitation to Jesus” rally.
Players on the top-ranked Buckeyes, including Caleb Downs, Sonny Styles and Luke Montgomery, shared their faith journeys and urged students to place their trust in Christ and be baptized.
“No play we make on the field – no touchdown, no interception – can compare to the kingdom of God,” Downs said, according to The Lantern. The local ABC affiliate estimated around 50 students were baptized.
Attendance reportedly doubled from last year, when about 60 students were baptized.
