St. Louis Chess Club to host Sinquefield Cup

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The 2022 Chess Grand Tour is wrapping up with the Sinquefield Cup starting Thursday evening at the Saint Louis Chess Club in the Central West End.  The biggest names in chess, including prodigy and world champion Magnus Carlsen, will be competing for the $175,000 grand prize. Nine other players will be joining Carlsen, five of whom hail from the United States. The opening ceremony was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the World’s Fair Pavilion in Forest Park.
