(Daily Caller News Foundation) – The wife of
socialist New York Citymayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani appeared to mourn the death of a Palestinian influencer who celebrated Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack on Israel. Saleh al-Jafarawi, a popular social media influencer and activist who gained notoriety after posting a video celebrating the
Oct. 7 massacre, was allegedly shot and
killed in Gazaduring a deadly
clashbetween Hamas and Palestinian militias, according to
reports. In response, the Muslim
mayoral candidate’s wife, Rama Duwaji, shared an image of Jafarawi on her Instagram
story, accompanied by four broken-heart emojis. She also shared a separate post referring to the “beloved Jafarawi.”

Jafarawi has been dubbed “Mr. FAFO” in Israeli media for celebrating the
Oct. 7 attackin which Hamas terrorists killed 1,200 civilians and took 251 hostages, only to later post a video of himself sobbing after Israel launched its counterstrike on Gaza, according to the
New York Post. Jafarawi has also been accused of pocketing millions of dollars he had raised as donations for Gaza residents,
The Times of Israelreported. The influencer has been
falsely reporteddead on multiple occasions. “For the last two years, I have followed Hamas content creator Saleh Al-Jafrawi (‘Mr FAFO’) with a mix of horror and admiration. I was engrossed. Mr FAFO had phenomenal energy, charisma, and creativity. Always popping up in a different costume, once a patient, then a radiologist, a jihadist, then a foreign correspondent, a ham actor, but always with panache and chutzpah, constantly finding inventive ways to grab new audiences and tell his story,” former Israeli spokesperson Eylon Levy
wroteon X on Sunday in response to the news of Jafarawi’s alleged death. Mamdani’s campaign did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment. The Democratic Socialist has
previously drawn criticismfor
failing to condemnthe phrase “globalize the intifada,” which is widely seen as a call to violence against Jews. He
markedthe second anniversary of the Oct. 7 attack by accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of launching “a genocidal war,” while offering only a brief condemnation of the “horrific war crime” carried out by Hamas Mamdani currently leads the mayoral race with 46% support among likely voters, followed by disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo at 33% and Republican mayoral nominee Curtis Sliwa at 15%, according to an Oct. 9 Quinnipiac
survey. Mamdani also faces scrutiny over his campaign’s alleged acceptance of
$13,000in potentially illegal foreign donations, the New York Post reported Sunday. At least 170 of the campaign’s 54,000 contributions allegedly came from donors with addresses outside the U.S., despite only U.S. citizens or legal residents being permitted to donate to political campaigns and political action committees.
