Female cyclists say they were blindsided when transgender athlete Kate (KJ) Phillips won first place in last week’s USA Cycling national championships in Wisconsin.

Debbie Milne, an elite cyclist, said her friend Julie Peterson, who placed second but boycotted the winner’s podium, discovered Phillips’ name was hidden from the registration list until after the race.

“I don’t agree it’s fair to race a biological male,” Milne told Fox News in an interview.

“The UCI, or international or world governing body for the sport of cycling, has confirmed that it is not fair, but USA Cycling … they have not come in line with this new this new evidence and this new decision by a world governing body.”

Milne, who has won multiple championships, said she would have done the same thing as Peterson.
